Well you can if you want - you just need to something similar to what I have done. Work hard, build quality content that is useful to visitors, then apply some sound marketing techniques and SEO and integrate some solid advertisements into the quality content and as the traffic grows so will your income. Then you just continue to apply the same techniques and slowly but surely build a little empire.

Thanks, and it is great to see so many people from Brisbane signing up to these forums.

I was actually going to PM you the first time I saw your reply, because I was actually over in Bali only a couple of days ago. I was there on a three week surfing holiday. I was staying in Kuta. The funny thing is that I was ordering some shoes and having a conversation with one of the locals in the shop and he was actually just starting to look into things like AdSense and online marketing. We had a really good conversation and I gave him bit of advice and my email - LOL I actually told him the first thing he need to do was sign up to DP, but yeah if you are from Bali, or countries like it, I highly recommend getting into this industry you can make some really good money with it.

I can't really help you much on this front, but practice makes perfect, and part of any good business is surrounding yourself with people that make up for your weaknesses. So maybe if you are not very good at writing content maybe you could partner up with one someone who is and start a bit of a joint venture, or maybe you could just pay someone to write content for you - just make sure you don't substitute quality for "cheap service".

No not, but things are still trending that way, and I'm release a brand new project at the end of this month and I'm really really excited about it's potential, and I honestly think it could really push my earnings in the right direction, and it is based on a very sound business model... if everything works out I could be making another post on DP in a couple of months about taking AdSense to the next level.

From what I read, you seem to very smart. I have a new business, and I don't think I'll be using AdSense, but what you say applies to websites in general.

Your writing inspire me to work hard. Today I order a doamin to create a new article site. Now I am researching which article script should I use? I have several scripts. But they seem not SE optimized (have no option of <h1>, <h2> and many other). Can you suggest me a script that is search engine optimized?

And another thing, what is your Page CTR for Article site?

    Thanks.

Well websites are essentially little business; well if you are looking to make money from them they are, and for the large part you should treat them as such. I know I personally approach a lot of my project and website tasks within ROI in mind, and attempting to use my time in an optimal fashion and cutting out the unproductive tasks during my day. Not to mention occasionally outsourcing tasks to freelance workers, and I mean it isn't uncommon for many people to get ghost writers for their projects - which is more or less like "employing" someone as you would in a business.

Well I personally don't use scripts or CMS systems for my articles, I have a custom designed page I like to put my articles on. That said I know people have had loads of success with Drupals (www.drupals.org) and I have used it a bit with one of my forums before and I have found it to be quite flexible and the sort of thing that someone looking to integrate AdSense and SEO into their articles could really use.

As for CTR using the same article template I honest have CTR that ranges from 10 - 35% on my article pages, it depends on so many factors. Like whether the advertisers are similar to the content of the page, whether the content supports the ads, as in recommends the ads shown, whether the traffic comes from the site or whether it ranks well in search engines. There are just so many factors that influence CTR all I try and do is apply the same techniques I have outlined in thread to give my ads the best chance of being clicked, by optimizing as many aspects as possible, but at the same time I don't sit here and go well I need a 20% CTR before I move onto new articles, I don't work like that because I think when you are operating from a ROI mindset you look to get the biggest gains and quick as possible and settle for something that is 90% of its potential because to get that final 10% would require an amazing amount of energy that isn't justified by the extra 10% return. Basically I try and apply the 80-20 rule, get 80% return with 20% of the effort.

Ahh, my article site's CTR is below 5%, may be because they are huge in size (multipage article) and article page has too many links (popular article, recent view article ...) and also my article site have just few pages right now and all pages are not indexed by google. How many article pages do you have?

Only around 50 at the moment, but I haven't added any new articles since before Christmas, but I got caught up over Christmas and new years than had a 3 week holiday after that then have been really focusing on my new projects. Though I do plan to increase this number tremendously in the near future.

Well I'm obviously not making all my money from articles I do run pages on my sites other than articles they just make up a good proportion of my earnings and are the higher CTR sections of my sites.

I have made around $100 from CashCrate but that said I'm quitting it - it was really just a trial thing, I honestly hadn't been involved in any "Get Paid To" programs in a long time and well I figured I'd give one another shot considering I had a much greater ability to get referrals now - but the performance of the program has been quite poor so I'm going to stop getting referrals for it and just let it run by itself, it might make me a couple of extra dollars every month but it isn't worth my time.

The correct name is http://www.drupal.org I use it on all my new websites and would not change it, not for joomla and not for anything else!
