My 2-month old blog is PR3, but no directory submission?

    Hi everyone,

My 2-month old blog jumped from PR0 to PR3, but I never submit it to any directory or search engine.

Although I am fond of leaving comments on other blogs and forum posting, I was just amazed how it happened. I am not really a SEO inclined blogger, and did not even checked my PR not until a visitor told me.

So I hope any SEO geek can provide me some solid explanations.

    Thanks!

If the blogs that you commented on had high page ranks, this can be a great help!

Actually, that's the first idea that came to my mind. Does this mean my PR will go down, if the PRs of these blogs will go down? A chain reaction, for that matter? Thanks for the input.

    Any more ideas, anyone?

If the PR of you backlinks go down (and you don't have very many), there is a good chance that your PR will also go down.

You should continue posting on forums and blogs so you can maintain your back links but if the pr goes down on them you pr will also probably go down

PR is calculated from the PR strength of your backlinks. If the sites that link to you loses PR, your PR will be weaker as well.

My blog is a little over 2 months old and also got PR 3, and I don't do any directory submission - I just comment and get into the top commentators widget in each blog

Yeah just have to keep posting comments on blogs and getting backlinks naturally. Googles new system of PR seems to be all about natural linking and relevant linking.

You have a month old blog with 291 backlinks that have not been indexed yet? Odd!

Does it have original content - and more than just a front page?
And what kind of links are they? Usually just a footer link on forums such as this should help a site get indexed within a few days at most.
