I recently had an enduser company that sells car parts approach me looking to purchase a 2 word .info name. As the saying goes, the 1st person to name a price usually loses. Their email: Enduser: My boss runs a used auto parts store in XXXXXXX. He asked me to email you and see if you are interested in selling the domain XxxXxxxx.info ... If so what are you looking for??? What I am wanting to reply: My Reply: Thank you for your enquiry about XxxXxxxx.info Currently I haven't done much with the domain as I have other projects I am working on. I do have future development plans for this name but if I get an offer that is suitable, I would possibly consider letting this name go. Let me know your best offer for this name. What do you think is the best way of getting them to make the 1st offer?
I would suggest you get a proper domain valuation first. Keep in mind .info don't go to high so if you can reach the x,xxx barrier, that would be could unless its really a premium domain. Your reply seems safe though but I would guess he will try to give as low as possible. Better start with a benchmark that your willing to sell it. Example: (if your aiming for 1K) I would let it go for 2K but if you need to neg I would be happy to listen to your offers. Goodluck p/s- I would warn you about the appraisal scam but I know your a active domainer so you should prob have known that already.
Valuations are pointless, get enquirer to make an offer or if not tm or out for a challenge name your price, start higher than the amount you want as then you will have room for for negotiation when they respond with "too much".
