Nah, at his age, he should be enjoying offline activities / offline life. The internet is too addicting, so don't get him addicted during highschool (this is not the time to focus on something other than life offline).

just let him to do what he wants, but anyway he needs to have a clear plan, not only just a dream.
experience is everything, no matter what the result will be, just have a try, and do not regret!
but keep an eye on him since he is only 14.

Thanks vlada111 for actually reading the post ;)

I'll be glad to keep you guys updated with how he's doing:

Yesterday was his first day submitting to my wifes Associated Content account. He spent the morning practicing for an upcoming oral presentation at school and then got busy writing his first 9 articles for AC. He's going to get started by writing all of his own content and then once he knows what AC wants from his articles, I will help him to setup the outsourcing of some of the work so he can earn a lot more.

I have a special software that makes it a easier to actually submit the articles to AC and saves a lot of time, so we downloaded a copy to his computer. He submitted the 9 articles and I will update you guys with what upfront pay AC offers for his work. (as soon as the articles are reviewed by AC staff.)

Based on my own experience with AC and how much they pay for certain niches/topics, I'm confident he will get somewhere in the neighborhood of $3.50 for each of these first articles.

I'll update as soon as the articles are reviewed!

    Regards

yep, i think you should let him but watch over him and tell him to always ask you if he finds something interesting wants to pursue it because it may be a scam.,

Great idea! Just let him write the articles, it is a unique way of getting education as well  I am into article writing and I can proudly say I really am learning a lot each day.

And I would love to keep track of the little guy's progress, so i would say YES! turn this into his journal/log :)

    Hi John,

Awesome, we have something in common. I appreciate your interest in the idea of turning this into a journal as well.

    Update:

Well, his first set of 9 articles got reviewed by Associated Content this afternoon and he was really happy with the results. (his mom and I are very proud because he made his first real money online)

Out of the 9 articles submitted, all 9 articles were accepted and given upfront payment offers of between $3.27-$4.17 each. He was so happy, he ended up calling everyone he knows to tell them about it! His total earnings for his first 9 articles submitted were $32.63!

Yesterday when he got home from school he completed his homework and made a few phone calls before getting started with his articles for the day. (he's staying very disciplined and sais he wants to write at least 10 articles every night)

Lastnight he actually completed 12 articles and got them submitted before he went to bed. So far he's been writing on niches ranging from product reviews to how-to articles and is doing really well with learning about keywords densities, writing catchy titles etc etc.

I'll update again when he gets these 12 articles reviewed.

His next ultimate goal is to have me teach him what I do as far as outsourcing a portion of the writing itself. I want him to spend at least 2 weeks getting a feel for how Associated Content works first though.

Will update again when he gets this next batch of articles reviewed!

My Word! that's brilliant :D he is not my kid but believe me when I say it has made me feel very happy to know that :) if only I had started this early. Its truly a great sign.

Also, If you don't mind me suggesting, I personally think you should lay off the outsourcing for quite a while. Let me clarify myself:

At the tender age of 14, the brain is on a learning spree, he will learn anything that comes his way. So, if he gets to learn about outsourcing now, I fear he might learn to get the easy way out of anything that comes to him. Let him go through the hardship for now (at least 5-6 weeks), this will teach him the value of hardship and how it can pay off at times most needed. And also (but not least), the more articles he writes on his own, the more he would be exposed to a variety of subjects (hence, learning more), this would really brush up and fine tune his research, composing and editing skills. Which, you must agree, he would need in his higher studies.
Let him ease into it first, let him understand on his own that no matter how challenging a job might be, he can definitely rely on himself to over power it.

I am just sharing my personal experience, hope this helps in any way it can :)

Send my blessings to the young one. Tell him people are looking forward to his success.

    Cheers my friend.

    Great suggestions John!

it's ironic you say that because my wife and I were discussing the same exact thing last night. He really needs to wrap his head around doing things manually, while learning the ropes on his own. He was so excited by his earnings for these first few articles that he really wanted to jump the gun so to speak.

    Thanks again,

Will update later tonight if he gets his next round of articles reviewed.

    Regards,

    Duc

14 is pretty young - but good news that he's keen.

I guess he could be out doing a lot worse!

Keep an eye on him though...

My dad encouraged me when I first asked when I was around 12, he monitored what I did for the first few months then let me grow. ;)

This is great that you're working with your son on this. I am also working full time with Associated Content and I wish your son and yourself the best. I will definitely follow your journal.

For his first submissions those are really good earnings. I'm anxious to see what he gets for the next ones.

I see from your sig that you're using Redtide's AC outsourcing method also, how long have you been using it?
