Yeah! Always Educations comes first because no online targets can be reached without having proper Academic Education unless if he manages his time after studies then you can allow him to do so

I think it too early for him. May be he should just concentrate on his studies right now.

The kid should concentrate on studies.

In free time you can teach him few stuff.

    win-win situation!

    yup.:)

He's doing really well in school so that isn't really an issue. If my wife and I let him get started he will only work on it when his homework is done :)

No. Don't let him get started. It is a bottomless pit that only 1% succeed in. Even if he DOES succeed, it will not enrich his life. Asking people here is like going on a "alcohol lovers" site and expecting them to tell you to warn him about alcoholism.

Nothing in life can replace persistence and the value of hard work. Even if he does succeed at a web business he should consider a regular job, starting a company, or some other meaningful form of interaction with human beings on the side.

It really depends how he's doing in his current life, without spending time making money on the internet. His priority should be his education. If he's not succeeding in that, then you shouldn't allow him to work on the internet.

If your son is succeeding in everything that he is participating in at the moment, then I suggest that you allow him to work on the internet. But remember, always supervise and guide him!

it is ok man, let him do it, sometime young people get brilliant idea, and you know that brilliant idea on IM equals bunch of money, if you choose not to give him what he want there are consequences, he still try on his own, he will disrespect you and many more, you can let him do the IM but give some good rules, it will make him learn about responsibilities and if you become his tutor( a good one) he will learn to respect you better, you must still close to him and be a good father, and your son will be fine.

    Hi,

As per mine opinion, please do not allow him for that.

At 14 years age,he spend his time to build bright future, other outdoor activities.

Go for it. Couldn't hurt, start him off with something small, and let him work up and build confidence.

I talked about it in my original post actually. I make my fulltime income online and becasue he is already computer savvy he asked me and my wife if we would let him get started in his free time as well.

Thanks for all of the input everyone! We are still weighing all of the options and are open to more suggestions for things that are good for a computer savvy 14 year old.

    Regards

Mark zuckerberg the creator of facebook is computer savvy since 8 years old, he love computer so much, still he go to harvard wich means the computer stuff didn't bother his school because we know that if your school life screw, you will never get in to harvard, he make facebook before his age turn 20, maybe your son will become the next mark Z....i am a computer addict since kid, but my school life is great and now i am studying medicine in one of medical school in my country, wich means if you manage the time well, use the computer and internet properly, then everything will be fine.
