Good idea. I'll check into that tomorrow and let you know if I find any classes for kids this young. I know he would love it.

My avatar? That's a tiny benefit of owning Google. :D

lol I have a couple of lazy older kids myself. My older boy started a site a few months ago. I helped him set it all up. I told him to write one short story every day, and that at the end of the month he would make at least $30. Well... he made it to day 3 at least. :p

Congratulations to you and your son - that's so cool!

These kids today have such a huge opportunity growing up with the internet. That's great he's gotten a head start on learning how to use it to make money already.

good kid, if he keeps it up and you lead him than by the time he gets to the age where most kids are ready to go off to college he'll be a step away from retirement :p gotta love the internet...

That's an impressive story to read on. Congrats to you and your son!

This is possible because your son's page might have ranked top or in the first page of Google search results. You might have optimized the page for a certain keyword unknowingly which helped the page to rank top in Google.

This is very much possible with Google because, if there was some one ranked top for the keyword with some black hat tricks, one fine day google might have caught them and dropped the paged from their index. When this happens, suddenly the unknown pages are visible on the first page for the same keyword.

This might have been the case with your son's single page.

I feel happy for your son.

That's awesome!!! You have every right to brag about this! In fact, we have to contact a Shawn and make him change the rules so that you can post threads about this in every single subforum here at DP! :D

Congratulations, your son made you proud by receiving a check for $257. I bet the feeling you got from it is priceless.

I can't wait till my wife gets home, I really want to tell her about this! Although this would make me look like a poorer human being than your 10 year old son. Well, I'll risk it and will tell her anyway. :)

Thanks for all the kind words guys! I really appreciate it. I'm showing all of them to my boy. He gets a real kick out of it.

Thank you. Yeah, he could be a lot wealthier than me for sure.

    lol

Thank you! You're right. They relly are lucky growing up with this opportunity. I wish I had some knowledge when I was his age. I would have retired by 1997 for sure!

That sure would be cool huh? I can tell you that he wants to build a lot more sites now, but I don't have enough time to help him set them up now.

I just checked CJ and he made another $12 something this morning, plus $3 something with Adsense so far today. Can't wait to tell him after work.

Thank you! He ranks pretty dang well on a ton of terms for his niche. He will be ranking all the way to the bank in another year or so.

It really was a priceless feeling. We just couldn't stop laughing when we realized what happened.

Yeah, he made me feel pretty dumb about some of my sites 2. lol

Thank you. Yep, he's 10. He's my baby boy. My other boy is 12, and my daughter is old enough to scare the hell out of me.

I don't see what the big deal is though. Its not like he bought the domain, hosted it, found the affiliate programs, and did the SEO, etc. You did all that. All he did was a bit of writing. You are really the one who earned it because without SEO and technical aspects, no one would have even known about his site.

He is getting first hand knowledge of things though, so he can apply it all by himself in the future.

    I highly doubt it. :p

I remember when all of mine were babies. We would make a huge fuss when they did anything for the first time- pee, poo, fart, talk, crawl, walk, etc. I guess this is just another one in that line- make some affiliate sales. :p

At what age do we stop making a huge fuss over them? Is it something like this... My son just turned 192 months old and just got his drivers license. Just a thought. :)

I hope I will always make a big fuss over mine. I wish my parents would have done the same for me.

    Just a thought. :)

Wow, that's actually pretty cool. I've had some success with StubHub in the past, but the competition's gotten crazy in that market now. It's impressive he's doing well with it.
