My #1 Blogging Tool: A Notepad

Yes, that's my #1 blogging tool. If you think about it, you'll understand why. Almost all of my post ideas come from my pencil and paper, in which ideas pop out of nowhere and I jot them down. All bloggers should have some sort of note-taking tool, whether it's with paper or in a digital Word file.

    good point..
i get most of my ideas while sitting in traffic - so i think a small voice-recorder would work better for me.. I keep planning on getting one, but never get around to it.. i usually end up putting what i do remember into drafts in WP ..

Agreed... I'm a notebook junkie. I keep one for each blog and site I run, and they're littered with posts I want to write, ideas, outlines, etc.

Drafts are nice. Since they work just like taking notes, it's still a good idea to at least put them down somewhere.

Me too, I love editing my PHP, CSS and HTML, ASP, etc.... files with notepad. Its a NO FUSS program which is a rarity in the Windows Operating System (XP in Classic Mode).

I aslo use it. Sometimes I just have to get away from computer with pen and paper. I sometimes use notepad (the windows software this time) to write ideas, but I always have a pen and paper ready.

As a writer I find my various notepads to be a critical tool in my day-to-day arsenal. I carry one in my pocket and one in my bookbag. I keep a journal within arms reach of my bed and one or two at my computer desk.

In fact, if forced to choose between my cell phone and my notepad, I am pretty sure I would choose the notepad.

    ha. Love fineliners!

As far as pens go, I've developed a weird obsession with Pentel Energels. (metal tip 0.7mm heh). I have a hard time using anything else nowadays. I'm considering campaigning for a PR position at Pentel, I'm their biggest evangelist.:p

    I couldnt agree more.

Be it blogging, linkbuilding or anything else, I sometimes get a sudden idea and have to rush for a pencil - methinks its about time I invested in a notepad :p

Same here. Almost every article I write is done first as a draft on a notepad. Got a few filled up already.
