Twitter- as we all know is a micro blogging platform to publish short updates (up to 140 characters). It is like an internet messenger. We all enjoy twitting around the WEB, creating social network, sharing updates & knowing what people are doing around us. Here I am talking about some great tools to make twitting easy & effective.

TwitterFox: This is really a must have tool for twitter enthusiasts. This is a Firefox extension that notifies you of your friends' tweets on. Whenever your friends update their tweets, you will get the pop up notification right from your browser, isn’t it great 
There is a reply button and favorite button on right-top corner of the popup. You can reply to any specific twit or can post your new updates right from your pop window. There's no need to visit the Twitter site to do this anymore—it's built right into twitterfox. It will definitely help you increasing your networking & involvement with other twitter users’.

Twitbin: This is again a tool to send and receive messages to all your fellow twitterholics, right from your firefox browser.

TwitterBar: TwitterBar allows you to post to Twitter directly from Firefox's address bar. A small unobtrusive grey icon sits to the right of your address bar; clicking on it will post your tweet, and you can hover your mouse over it to see how many characters you have left.

You can also post by typing "--post" at the end of your tweet. Clicking the grey icon when visiting a webpage will send a tweet with the URL of the webpage you are currently viewing.

Twitzer - Twitter long text: If you want to post more than the 140 character limit at Twitter, install this extension. Now type away as much as you want and before posting just click on "Twitzer text". The extension will automatically save the full text at shortText.com, create a URL and replace the typed text with the summary and URL.

People who follow you can get the full text of the created links on Twitter site itself by clicking on 'De-Twitzer text'.

Twitzer - Twitter more! Also gives you the functionality to post your update of more than 140 characters.

Power Twitter by 30 Boxes: This is again a plugin for Firefox web browser that greatly enhances twitter by offering photo sharing with embedded flickr photos, video sharing with embedded youtube videos, shared tinyurls are unwound so you know where they link to etc.

TwitterCounter: Integrate TwitterCounter.com badges on your blog to display the number of followers you have on Twitter

Tweet This: Adds a Post to Twitter bird icon to the top-right of every post and page, with a nice rollover effect. Shortens URLs in advance through Th8.us, eating up only 16 of 140 characters. Includes the post's title after the link (can be turned off). If your titles are really long, they get cut off near 130 characters with "...". Customize or disable auto-insertion under Settings > Tweet This.

MyTwitter: MyTwitter allows users to display their recent Twitter status updates (tweets) on their Wordpress site and update their status through the Options page includes, customization options including number of recent twitters to display, formatting options, and stylesheets. It can be called as a function or used as a widget.
