Hi folks, What are the MUST have tools which help your business/startup/app to keep low bounce rate and high engagement? We at OllyBee.com are currently building a gamification app for these goals, so we are also interested to know what other tools or techniques you use to decrease bounce rate and increase engagement. Thanks in advance. P.S. In a nutshell, we're developing game-driven promotion like hide-and-seek game (I hope you played at it when you were a child). You can hide graphical objects on your website and suggest visitors to seek them. If a user finds graphical objects he can get a reward for this (for example, discount on your products).
I added a Random article button, it lowed bounce by ~5%. Next I plan to change my comments system, so that it shows the best at the top to encourage discussion.
http://satwcomic.com/ - there are 3 links "[Random Strip] [Archives] [Wiki]" That random strip button lowered my bounce rate quite a bit.
I meant that you can have something like: Related to your niche you can start some poll if you can. Like I do MLM Niche blogging, even I am thinking to start polling / voting for best mlm companies, top mlm leaders, etc. If you promote such post people will come to vote for their mlm company or leader from their company. You can also have some How To video, means ask your self - What are the top 5 queries, questions, problems you audience have & make individual videos & give answer to their queries. Hope this helps
Glad you like it Here are couple of page on my blog that have How to Video: http://www.vineetgupta.net/inspired/ http://www.vineetgupta.net/8-important-tips-for-inviting-prospect-for-network-marketing-opportunity/ I am not having Voting blog post as yet, because I am find the right plugin or source through which I can ask people to vote. In case you come across any such way, you can pls. tell me that.
crowdsearch.me is one tool that I'm currently using to decrease bounce rate and increase engagement. Pretty nifty service. You basically pay people to google you with certain keywords and spend time on your web site.
Have you tried adding videos like 'Tutorials' or 'reviews' related to your niche on the website? These techniques are used to lower the bounce rate of a particular page or the whole website.
Bounce rate is high if people do not see what they wanted to see on the your page. They came here for freebies and see a squeezepage? here is 99% bounce rate for ya. If you offer them what they want and on your page they receive EXACTLY what they searched for - you're golden.
Thanks, Kushal Shah, for this technique. I couldn't agree more with it. If they get what they want (fx.: article on blog), visitors can leave your website. They won't look at your content on other pages. How do you engage such ones?
I don't think so, it's strictly to improve CTR and engagement, but maybe you never know they are real people...supposedly
I work in WordPress and I think the best tools to decrease bounce rate in WordPress are: Good, attractive, clean, responsive WordPress theme with readable fonts and not too many colors Fast load times (use a page cache like Super Cache or W3 Total Cache) Lots of links to click (outgoing links are target blank, you just have to check a box in the add link from the editor to get that) Use images, subheadings, lists/bullets, and other elements to make the page scannable and interesting (uses editor) Related posts (I use Jetpack Related Posts) Load next post (I use WordPress Auto Load Next Post) Redirect comments to thank you page (lots of redirect plugins) Redirect subscribers to thank your page (lots of redirect plugins) Use footer widgets (built into WordPress) Use recent posts, top posts, and recent activity widgets (built into WordPress) Use CTA at the end of posts (lots of plugins do this)
