Can somebody sum up for me what problems are created by the increase in illegal immigrants from Mexico? My understanding was that there is soon to be a labour shortage in most developed countries, more workers will be needed if we want to compete with China and India over the next 25 years.
Forgive me if I mischaracterize the views of my worthy opponents, but the presumed problem comes down to 3 things: (1) Being illegal, these immigrants are criminals to begin with; (2) a clash of cultures; and (3) the low-value added worth of the Mexican labor pool - poorly trained, low-skilled workers.
This isn't a dinner. First come first serve is not a rational policy. It's favourable by it's very nature. Chain immigration is a standard that set favourability. Now whether or not that was intended, is not issue I care of. What I care of is what comes of it. What results are to come from it. I believe it's much better to reduce family immigration, and gauge demands in industries of need e.g the medical field, sciences, engineers, and hell even some pilots (we need ya). This would be much more beneficial to our physical demands and intellectual needs. I can't tell you how sorely we need helicopter pilots. Our industry is getting kicked in the balls because we don't have enough pilots out there and margin is razor thin.
Add an increase demand to infrastructure, that will reduce efficiency levels. ----------------------------------------------------------- I don't really care for number one, though.
No it's not germans or canadians that are causing the problem with illegal immigration, again, it is 80+% a mexican issue. Ill-suited is your word. Don't paraphrase, quote directly my words.. but never presume their intent. No, that is not what I said nor implied. I AM saying however that there is preferential treatment for mexicans. Because it is the white Americans that lose out. Regardless (as noted) if we are the minority, the preferance will still go to others. can you justify that? When over half your city is illegally here, wouldn't you have a problem with it? Lets try it this way: If they gave special treatment to say, British in America, and refused to prosecute them for a crime lets say..ohh...to pick a random number, 32,000,000 of them committed... would that not be bias? do you honestly believe that would go unreported and allowed to happen? No, this is merely a symptom of the disease in America. Same thing as the past 3 pages, illegal immigration.
Reminds me of the 1970's when the 'darkies' and 'pakies' came over to the UK. People used to think that black people would eat their daughters and Pakistanis cooked poisonous food. Whats the issue here with low skilled workers? Aren't we all born with low skills? If everybody had skills who would do all of the unskilled jobs that an economy is built on? The Mexicans!!
Which infrastructure is suffering? Show me a company/government report that talks about overuse of infrastructure. Are the energy companies complaining about having too many custormers again

Don't you really mean that it is white trash Americans that lose out since they are too lazy to work as hard as Mexicans? I have never heard about Doctors, engineers, university professors, nurses, lawyers, skilled labors that are worried to lose their jobs to illegal Mexican immigrants.

Yup, in 25 years the sons and daughters of the unskilled illegals will be the skilled work force. Progress is good.
