I will not talk about Indonesia but I will respond to you regarding the Muslim woman who was sentenced to whipping in Malaysia, because I am a Malaysian and I am aware of the facts regarding the case. Unlike a certain fool in Puerto Rico who can only rely on hearsay and make biased conclusions, the simple fact of the matter was that the person involved was caught drinking in public in a state where the Shariah provision for disallowing drinking of alcohol in public is enforced, after complaints about it was made by the public to the authorities concerned. Shariah in Malaysia varies from state to state. Only three states in Malaysia has the provisions for drinking alcohol: Perlis, Kelantan and Pahang. The aforementioned criminal case above was committed in the state of Pahang. The Shariah court found the Muslim woman guilty and sentenced her to six strokes of the rotan.

Facts of the case that Islamophobes do not want to tell you about:

1. The Shariah provision is enforced ONLY upon Muslims

2. This sentence is only applicable in THREE Malaysian states, other Malaysian states do not provide any punishment under their respective Shariah laws.

3. The Muslim woman was tried, found guilty, and sentenced as per its jurisdiction. There was no miscarriage of justice.

4. The Muslim woman in question is appealing against her sentence and hence it has yet to be carried out pending the appeal.

5. Nobody in Malaysia finds it to be an issue, except for the Islamophobe from Puerto Rico.
