So you mean Jesus came to correct God's mistakes? If the old testament is God's word, and it needed "correcting"... God couldn't possibly be a perfect being.
old testament = "gods book" new testament = "gods book" after a politically correct re-write so they are still accepted and able to function without people calling them insane and evil. And whoever said religion has caused more death and destruction than anything else in the world is 100% correct. Religion is behind almost all wars, battles, political problems, and so on. Cant we just do away with it already? If it makes you feel any better, we can dump Santa, Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny and the rest of the silly characters too. Religion is the grown folks version of Santa. come on...
It's all so silly. It's all about money and power, nothing more. The people at the top of the religious food chain could careless about "god". They want those donations, the power, and new sheep for their herd. The bigger they get, the more money they make, the more power they gain. How do people not see this for what it is?
Do you have any proof to back up these statements? I may personally believe that the Pope is self-deluded, but I do not have any evidence to support the theory that the Pope is not actually a God-fearing Catholic. In the absence of such proof, I am unable to fathom why you would make such statements.
I think history is all the proof needed to make assumptions about the motivations of Christian leaders current and past.
Like the assumption that Gtech makes when he claims that all suicide bombers in the middle east are muslims? I don't hear any protests from you then....
here is the thing with the quran, u cant just read one verse, you have to read the whole thing to make sense of it Allah does not forbid you respecting those who have not made war against you on account of (your) religion, and have not driven you forth from your homes, that you show them kindness and deal with them justly; surely Allah loves the doers of justice. (60: 8)
No one represents Christianity other than Christ, so if you want to find faults, do it by looking at Him and tell me if you see any. Please don't claim God is "this" and "that" if you have no personal experience of Him. Don't quote what you've seen in the past, what you see on TV, or what your friends say about the issue. Got questions? Go out there and find the answers for yourself. You will find them. Looks are deceiving. Don't give up because the world is going to hell, He didn't answer your prayers, or any other stupid reason. Truthfully and whole-heartedly seek the truth and I can bet my life that you will find it.
As a secular agnostisist, I think that some christian member on this forum can give a better answer than me. But am sure that they believe in the new testament more than the old. How do the law in the real world work? Well the constitution goes first, then the other laws. I think for christians, the new testament goes first, then the old. Mayby g-d suddenly changed his mind when he saw what was happened. Or mayby he just put the humans on test. It must have been something, I guess.
I think you're completely missing the point. Christians have MTV, McDonald's, and sexually empowered women to dull their extemism. Muslims even kill OTHER Muslims of a different sect! Just TODAY, a bomb went off at a sunni mosque in Karachi Pakistan killing three people. If Muslims will kill eachother, then think what they'll do to us! These people riot over a Danish cartoon! This, of course, all commanded by Mohammed, a lecher who married his adopted son's wife who was SIX YEARS OLD. The Qu'Ran says he "consummated" the marriage when she was 9 years old! A Pedophilic Prophet.
By the way, Mohammed commands all Muslims in the Qu'Ran to lie to infidels. Just thought you should know.
Just to be clear here, I am in NO WAY agreeing with yo-yo by defending Islam. I'm saying all religion is silly to me, not just Christianity.
Ahh, now I understand why it was so complicated to understand their excuses. This is something that the old testament doesn't mention.
