So why again Mia, isn't the old testament (the bible) part of god's word? Who decided to pick and choose which parts of god's word were to be used and not used?

I never said it was not the word of God. It is however, irrelevant. Think of it is as "History of the World Part 1". Opps, let's start over.. Enter, New Testament "History of the World Part 2". Catch a drift?

Doubt you will. I have a rewards card from Borders if you want a discount on "See Dick Run".

The old testament is as much christian as it is islam. It is history.

The new testament are also apart of islam. Does it mean that it have any significant presence in the quoran laws? Nope. Mohammed came to fix the mistakes of Jesus.

Anyway, why not bashing islam for the old testament if you bash christians for it? It is history for them too.

So all those horrible things God said, and nasty, evil rules he made, are in fact, God's word, and Christians should believe it, right? How is that irrelevant?

Why can't you give a straight answer? Is it because you have no excuse for those nasty hateful things god said? That would be the first time you've never had an excuse for something... I'm shocked.

So until you can show me why the old testament isn't god's word, then the BIBLE is just as hateful as the Qu'ran.

Well regardiing the issue of the old testament, you might ask yourself what porpuse Messias had on this planet. If everything was fine, then why did he came and reformed the religion?

I'd offer an explanation, but you've already said it's a fairy tale. Your mind is already made up, it's closed, as usual.

    You are getting closer ;)

The problem is, yo-yo doesn't care. His fear that Christians might pray him to death has overcome him.

If it is God's word, how can it be irrelevant?

Once again, read those nasty hateful things god said and then tell me the Bible isn't just as hateful as the Qu'ran.

I started reading the "Bible" one day and had I stopped at Exodus, I would think the same as you. However, I kept reading. Try it.

"No man ever believes that the Bible means what it says; he is always convinced that it says what he means."

(George Bernard Shaw / 1856-1950)

Jesus came to save the world and abolish the teachings of The Old Testament because they contained mistakes and were easily misinterpreted by Pharisees who used them to justify their wrongdoings. Everything Jesus said was filled with hope and love but he also gave us warnings. He was against fighting violence with violence. He condemned racism which was obvious to Jews because of their self-claimed superiority over Gentiles. Unlike Jesus, Mohammad was an ordinary man who couldn't even refrain from carnal desires. If he was sent by God he would've done nothing but God's will. Islam puts him above God's only son Jesus Christ and that is nothing but blasphemy. Muslims believe that Jesus will come again to tell all people that Mohammad's teachings were correct (I couldn't stop laughing when I heard this from a Muslim I spoke with). I mean, Gee, aren't Mohommads words enough? I guess not. If you believe that God would write a book for you(Quran) then you must place yourself closer to God than Jews. Guess what? God loves all people equally that's why he doesn't intervene in our affairs. I hope one day Muslims and Jews will learn that they aren't so special. Live your life as best as you can and God will welcome you into his kingdom whether you believe in him or not.
