I am a humanist - I'd prefer to think it is a human duty to help a human being in trouble. I look forward to the day when words we use to label ourselves are incidental to the decency we share in common, and to the day we are impelled to compassion by knowing that each of us, really, is one.

Grab, I am not sure what you are doing. This is an unadulteredly beautiful story about a man stepping up in defense of another man. All the more beautiful that a Muslim man stepped up to defend a Jewish man. My hope is that labels like "Jew," "Muslim," or any other thing that distinguishes us one from the other will simply pale when compared to our common humanity.

I honestly don't understand the point you are trying to make.

My point is that, everyone says all Islam does is teach negative things and Muslims never do any good. But in this story, do you see any other people apart from the Muslim stepping up and helping the people being attacked?

All I'm saying is, this is the real Islam :)

Sounds like you suffer from a "persecution complex". Not "everybody" says negative things about Muslims.

I guess I saw a human being first; I found this story beautiful because it was a human story, and an all too rare one at that. But I understand you're point.
