Lucozade is hosting some of my sites, so I've gotta be nice to him. HaHa If we were the most hated country in the world (which I don't really believe) I would still feel the same. The US believes in human dignity and freedom of expression. The government is not going to stone me because I commit some religious crime like adultery. They are also not going to imprison me because I refuse to be a certain religion. The fact that so many people can speak out against our government without fear of reprimand speaks for itself. Despite the criticism, I love the US and it is truly the land of the free. p.s. Oh yeah, and anywhere is better than an islamic state for a woman. (so true sam!)
Now thats a crock of male bovine excrement, the government in India is a secular one. And the majority of the citizen are Hindus. The government of India does not kill you for changing your religion. The government of India does not care, what you do with your religion. Where do you get those facts about India from. I donot know about Pakistan, and frankly I donot care either. And this one is for those USA haters. Guys, if you hate this country so much, why do you come to this forum (its owned by an American), why do you use the internet, why do you use computers, why do you watch tv, talk on a telephone etc. Those things and countless other innovation came out of that country and they still are the home of free speech (which most islamic and other nations understand, sine they donot have any free speech). If you hate them so much stop using anything that this country has developed. Unless you do so, you just look like a hypocrite.
WRONG! The internet was invented by a Brit, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Berners-Lee Computers were invented by us or the Germans depending on who you believe
Dude, we live in aglobal economy and people from different parts of the world will use things made in different countries. This how the world economy works.
Dont you know that there is HUGE, Damn HUGE difference between internet and WWW(World Wide Web)? Or is it Ignorance at its max again, as usual?? And Its lovely to see how you are trying to de-rail the thread from original topic to the Anti-America Blaber.. Yet to hear your thought about the said incidence.
True, but with www being the most used part then it stands to reason. The original 'internet' was just a collection of interlinked computers. WWW enabled the commercial use we see today.
Do you use the wheel? It was invented in Iraq. Also do you live in a city? That was also started by Iraqis. Algebra? That was invented by a Persian Muslim al-Khwarizmi. Since the begining of time, people have been using technology and invention developed by others, what's so different about the internet and/or USA?
Not true again.. WWW is purely associated with htt protocol.. thats the only part of the entire internet. (So claiming that WWW is the Internet is ummmm.. ignorance??). Protocols like ftp, nntp gopher were exploiting commercial usage of internet way before WWW was introduced. And actually http enabled the commercial use of internet WWW only standardized it. While it was beneficial for development of Web application. and it changed many thing. it certainly doesnt represent nor does it have influence on entire internet
FTP, least to say. even NNTP exists today. Gopher, yes obsolete. But thats the ever changing face of the internet. It wouldnt be a surprise if WWW becomes obsolete in near future. But thats not the point. I only contradicted your false claim that Tim Berners Lee invented the Internet. Which not even remotely close to the reality. And I again request your thoughts on the Original Post and said incidence.
Like I said, he invented the web, which is how the internet is used in the commercial browser form that we see today. As you say yourself, most of the other protocols are used infrequently or are obsolete, FTP is just that - File Transfer, I'd like to see a multinational company conducting transactions over FTP It's also worth mentioning the the Brits also invented the fibre optic cables that makes all of this possible The notion that Americans invented everything is just plain wrong.
