Musicmoz - Another Dmoz Directory

Has anybody checked out http://musicmoz.org. A directory for music related sites by dmoz. I wonder it was better if they put all their efforts and time in dmoz.org.

That, along with ChefMoz, have been linked from most ODP pages for several years, now.

Nice detective work, seoindia!

 

But the point here is that, instead of putting the efforts in new directories, they should put all their efforts in improving dmoz more. The time that they are devoting there can be utilized in dmoz itself and more sites can be reviewed at a faster time. Moeover they already have the music section in dmoz. One thing surprising is that musicmoz has a PR of 8 that too so soon, I wonder whether they are also engaged in link exchange..

 

You are making some assumptions, here, which are fundamentally flawed.

First, you are assuming that it is the same team of editors involved with both projects - wrong.

Second, you are assuming that if editors weren't working on MusicMoz they would be working on the ODP - wrong.

Third, you assume that editors measure success of the directory by how fast sites are reviewed - wrong (if you had bothered to read ANY threads on this and other forum you will see that that is not the case).

"so soon"? Wrong. MusicMoz started in 2001. Easy to check using archive.org

Let me summarize: Wrong, Wrong, Wrong, Wrong.

 

I know there are different editors for both directories. But let me tell you half of dmoz editors must be editors in there as well by a different id. Because they possess the skills by which they become dmoz editors, they will be using the same there as well. Definately editors measure of success is not determined by how fast they add sites but by quality of sites they accepts, But unfortunately there is neither quality nor quantity in any categories.

Yeh i forgotten to check archives but still PR8 is not a child play.

Do you have any evidence for this, seoindia, or is this another of your "well-researched" facts?

Then I would suggest that you increase the value of the points you are trying to make on fora by doing a little research first to back up your statements. (Or at least to verify that they are not just plain wrong)
