Multiple Websites, Similar Topics on One Host

Insofar as google, I have a question for the experts. I have multiple websites covering the same or very similar topics on one host, all with variations of keyword domain names.

All domains are registered @ GoDaddy and hosted @ hostgator.

All sites seem to be ranking very well for what I want them to at the moment. My question is, can having these websites on one server affect my rankings in the future if google gets "more intelligent" or is it heading that way?

In other words does google look for a same host address on a website and see what I am up to? I guess I am just looking for some reassurance because I have about 30 other keyword domain names that I want to develop. I am not posting "duplicate" content on these websites rather very similar content.

Any insight on this topic is appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Jim

I don't think that it is an issue unless you are putting links on your sites that link each other that are all on the same IP address.

Sites all on the same IP address: A,B,C,D, as so on... Site A has text links to B, C, D etc. Site B has links to A, C, D etc.

Well it really depends how many site you have hosted on one server all under the same registered name. If you have thousands of sites, linking to eachother, but not related, then your seo is really taking a punch in the face.
But if you host them on separate accounts or at least different ip's then you will ahve a better chance of google not finding out you own all those pages. Also when registering a domain name, use your business name or start a reseller account and use that....
