I know I hear of people running 60 websites (domains) and was wondering if they actually pay hosting for each as seperate. I have used domain forwarding before. Is that the best solution?
A reseller acount is what you are looking for. Most allow unlimited domains, as long as they're under the given disk space/bandwidth
true multiple domain hosting can work for you if you stay under resources, if you want to develop all 60 domains then go for a managed VPS
You can use normal hostgator Baby plan at $9.95 a month. If you sign up through me I can give you a small discount too.
Yes, HostGator baby plan should work fine for you. Check real HostGator Reviews and Coupons in you're interested.
I have more than 60 domains, use multiple hosts. Some hosts allow unlimited domains or 100+ domains in one account for $5/month. Decide what type of site you want, you can manage without a problem. Fancy Web 2.0 stuff takes up more server resources.
You need a separate hosting if you want them to be on separate hosting accounts. It also depends upon your storage and bandwidth requirements. If you want to resell the space to others, you will need a Reseller account or a VPS. If you are going to manage all your domains yourselves, you maynot even need a Reseller account. My vote for Reseller hosting from http://www.webhosting.uk.com/reseller.php excellent support with reliable server You can host unlimited domains using this plan.
