Hello, I am new to SEO and currently working on a lot of the key things identified throughout this forum. One thing I am wondering is if I should have multiple URL's for my website that all point to the same place. For EXAMPLE. www.mywebsite.com Also have www.key-words.com (Points to www.mywebsite.com) And another www.key-words2.com (Again pointing to www.mywebsite.com) Would that help in any way or is it just a waste? AND, if it is useful to have the keywords in a URL for my website, how should I separate the key words - with a dash? Thanks!
The best thing would be to have the keywords in the address without the dashes. About the multiple domains pointing to the same website, I think the best option is to get all the secondary domains up with some content and have them link to the main website, draining page rank and traffic for the main site. If the same site is presented to the search engines under different URLs you might be penalized for the uniqueness of your site.
Make atleast one page with optimized content and place a link to your main website. i think this is the best way to do!
Thanks for all of your comments. It sounds like it isn't really worth picking up similar URL's with good key words in them. I will just keep concentrating on the main site. Thanks!
i think waste of time and money . people will allways remember and use key-words.com and they will not remember key-words2.com
