Multiple URL to single site = no better than keyword stuffing?

I haven't been able to find anything on this anywhere but it seems like such a basic question. Is there any known penalties for directing multiple (5 to 10) URLs to a single site? Since it seems that my sites always get indexed much faster when URL contains the main keyword I'm targetting (among other factors, of course) I was thinking that simply pointing a few domains would help a bit. It would certainly help if one were looking to provide a service to multiple areas.

Ex: If I ran a maid service in Manhatten but served queens, I'd use:

    manhattenmaidservice[dot]com
    queensmaidservice[dot]com
    bronxmaidservice[dot]com

    Any suggestions?

I was wanting to know the same thing since you can't have duplicate content on sites and competition is very high on specific words.

    Thanks,

Seeing as you would have zero content and most likely zero backlinks to the pointing domains I doubt they would give you any advantage in the SERPS.

use 301 redirects to forward the domains to your main url.

That would be the best way to do it.

Or even better, get a domain that isn't specific to a certain city. It might cost you a little bit of time researching or even a little bit of money rather than $7 but atleast you won't have to upset your search engine positions in the future, if you decide to expand or whatever.
