I've heard it said many times that Google know who clicks the ads from the IP addresses and penalise publishers when they get multiple clicks from the same IP. Correct me on this if I'm wrong here, this is more of a question than a statement. What puzzles me is how many publishers may be penalised for multiple clicks when there may be hundreds, or even thousands, of users using the same IP. For example, a university, or say, a county's libraries. I know from experience that all computers in all Kent Libraries use the same IP. I imagine universities use the same system.
I've heard (on this forum) of people getting punished for that - their accounts disabled - and then they appealed to google and they got their accounts back. So yes, that is an issue, but if you can explain it like above, it's not going to get a website in permanent trouble.
I forgotten where i read it from, but this is what i read awhile ago. Google will disregard the click if the following takes place, i) the same IP address click on the same ads ( that goes to say, www.comeclickme.com ) within a span of 30 days. They will automatically void the clicks if there is by any chance the same visitor clicking the same ads twice, and pay u for one click. ( this is what happened for my sites. ) I happened to see multiple clicks on same ads by the same ip at one occasion and emailed google, and they thanked me for telling them and told me, in future should there be such activities, they will automatically void the multiple clicks and pay me only for one click. My 2 pence...
the chances of two people with the same ip clicking on your ad on your site on the same day are negligable, unless you run a large site and in that case i would expect google take it into consideration
wht will happen if a stranger clicks on my ads daily ten times ? and for one whole month he keeps doing this ? will they ban me ?
Yes, that's what happened to mine You'd to prevent people from doing that else Google will "happily" suspend you.
