Multiple sites, one google account - is this the right way?

It's probably a stupid question but if you have adsense on multiple websites (different URLs) should you just use the same adsense account or should you start another? Whats the proper method? I'm assuming that the single account is the correct method?

You can only have one adsense account - no matter how many websites that you manage.

If you had loads of websites, then you should use at least a URL channel to track performance a little bit for each seperate website.

Cool, thanks for the advice. That was the way I'd planned to go about it, especially since I've just figured the whole channel thing!

A single account is the way I do it. I have 30 sites and one Adsense account. Once a new site goes up I set up the Site and URL tracking on Adsense so I can go into the performance reports and see where my clicks are coming from. That way I can later decide which sites to let go on Flippa. You can also set up tracking of specific adverts and of which pages on a site are getting clicks but I do not bother with that level of detail. Adsense is a sideline gig for me and writing content is how I pay the bills. I also have fun writing and since I figured out how to do it fast I can't see doing anything else. Still, Adsense will always be on my blogs for a couple of reasons. 1) It generally earns enough to pay for the site, and 2) when I go to sell a site, which I do a few times a year, the sites with Adsense, Amazon, and Affiliate products fetch the highest prices. In fact, the last one I sold on Flippa that had all the bells and whistles went for $5,000 whilst my bare bones Adsense only site went for $6. Don't laugh, I'd set no reserve and timed the auction where it was ending in the middle of the night on a Saturday. Bad move. Oh well, live and learn. Anyway, writing and marketing will earn you more than Adsense, but you absolutely NEED ADSENSE for a lot of reasons. One being, to actually sell a product or get people to your site for Affiliate sales. ~Lynn

If u want to get banned from Google go ahead & use multiple accounts...just use ur single account for all ur multiple websites...Google is very strict ...they'll ban u if u try to play around with there policies... carefully read their terms & conditions t remain safe & be in business...

One account is enough, when you are approved your fine. The other websites you use on that account won't be approved after but ofcourse can get banned if you don't follow the rules.

I agree that following Google's rules for Adsense is crucial. It is not worth the pennies one might make to have your account banned. As I mentioned above, I have one account at Google with adverts on 30 sites. You can track your ad performance by site so i don't see the point in multiple accounts anyway. And my belief, which seems to be proven in my case, is that because I have been a good Adsense rule follower, when I now put up a new site it gets indexed in hours rather than days, and the ads are targeted almost immediately.

you have to use one account for all your websites, just make sure they're all abiding the google adsense policies.

Multiple site with one adsense account IS VERY DANGEROUS. Although this will make your earning to be high easily but think about if Google ban your account.Everybody know that Google can ban any account without any offense and no prior notice, no warning. If it happens that is the end of all your earning and you have to start all over again nothing to depend on. please wake up . Don't put all your eggs in one basket. The disadvantage is more than advantage.

But what do you suggest? Google wants you to only have one Adsense account tied to your name, I believe.

Google is very judicious and protective of customer's rights and they do not want anyone using their adverts as a way to scam or abuse customers. That is the reason for many of Google's rules, to protect their customers and users, which is there true asset. Seriously, if they allowed multiple accounts to easily be established, there would be some...not many but some...blackhat marketers that would establish hundreds of accounts as a way to manipulate ad prices or something else I cannot even think of. Think of Google's rules as protection for all of us trying to do things the right and honest way.
