my friend and i were thinking of getting a good, reliable hosting plan which offers the ability to host multiple sites on the same host. question is: if one of us GOD FORBID gets banned by google - do the other sites on the same host get affected in any way?
thanks! there's no way i can think of for filling up 100 GB of web space with my kind of site! so i thought multiple sites would be a good option. godaddy's delux package is pretty neat.
qwestcommunications, good idea but what if the host is with 80% uptime? Cheap hosting + billions of GBs = low quality hosting (not always! I have "worked" with one-dollar-hosting-plans and thanks, but no, thanks Putting all eggs in one basket can't be good idea
My point is that if you host all of your websites (that are generating revenue) on one account in one provider - one short downtime can smash you Bad experience using this mass hosting method I'd prefer to give 3$/month for 2 websites(companyA) than 6$/month for 5 websites(companyB)
you can check out dreamhost.com they are really good and there arent any downtimes and if you type 97PROMO as a promo code you get 97bucks off on any package
im using hostgator and they are allow 999 addson domains at one acount. i think this is no porblem for seo and adsense. Mustafa
i am also on hostgator and no problem yet, soon i will also get an account to host multiple websites Its a good idea in small money
bluehost or site5 or dreamhost or canaca if i am going to use 20 gb space and 900gb of bandwidth ? i was on site5 and once i went to 450gb transfer they suspended my site "too many connections" i have 2 friends was using up to 4000 gb transfer on canaca and this is first time to hear about bluehost so what you recommend ?
here's your answer from the mouth of Matt Cutts (Big honcho at google) http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/myth-busting-virtual-hosts-vs-dedicated-ip-addresses/ I can’t just deny it? What are my other choices? Actually, Google handles virtually hosted domains and their links just the same as domains on unique IP addresses. If your ISP does virtual hosting correctly, you’ll never see a difference between the two cases. We do see a small percentage of ISPs every month that misconfigure their virtual hosting, which might account for this persistent misperception–thanks for giving me the chance to dispel a myth!
