multiple sites in commission junction?

Discussion in 'Commission Junction' started by shulink, May 5, 2009.

Hi, I have 1 website and got accepted to some affiliate in commission junction. Now I want to start a blog in the related niche. Can I just put the code I got for my website to the blog or do I have to re-apply to the affiliates? Also, how do I create multiple sites in commission junction? I couldn't find anywhere to do that on their site, and their FAQ doesn't mention it.

Thanks for the link. So I have to re-apply for the affiliates for each site?

You can run your multiple sites for a CJ.com account. I personally use this method. CJ.com allows it.

So you mean I can just put affiliate code I got from my website to the blog and that will be fine?

You can use the code just about anywhere you want. You should add new sites to your account for your own purposes. If you're running the same code on multiple sites, you're never going to be able to determine which site is really performing and which needs changes.

thanks, I will add the site to my account for my tracking purpose. As long as I know it is safe to put the affiliate code on other sites without getting ban or not tracking my sales, that will be good.

I have to say the same thing - you can run you code about anywhere you want. I change to the right site when I remember, but I've used the same codes over and over on different blogs I own.

    Here is my scenario:

I live in Canada. Last year, I was accepted by a CJ advertiser that (now) no longer accepts publishers outside of the US. Lucky me. No problem so far. But now I have a new site/domain and want to add the same advertiser. My concern is that if I add another site, I will have to re-apply with this advertiser, bringing to light the fact that I live in Canada, and possibly jeopardizing this advertiser for both sites. I kind of want to fly under the radar. I'm thinking I might just add links to my new site without officially adding the new site to CJ.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Listing your multiple sites / blogs in your CJ setup *might* help you get approved by some vendors who manually review sites before accepting you into their program. Otherwise I believe code copied from one domain to another will track and credit your account properly - but show up as 'Invalid Links Generating Traffic' warnings in your user control panel.

You just need to add your new website to CJ then you will be ready to get the affiliate link of the merchant. In CJ, this is good thing that once you are approved for the merchant then you can create links for as many sites as you want by just adding new websites to your CJ account.

Do you know how to create links for your new website for the same merchant ?

You can use the code on any websites of yours, just like adsense
