Multiple sites - effect on serps if moved to single domain

    Hi all,

The company I currently work for have insurance products spread over individual domains for instance our photographic insurance policy is on photoguard.co.uk, whereas our bicycle insurance product is on cycleguard.co.uk.

We rank in the top 3 for pretty much all our keyphrases. Our CEO is wanting to move all our products to a single domain like 'pavilioninsurance.com' and then ditch the product domains.

Is there anyway of salvaging our serps and redirecting to the single domain whilst we build the serps for the single domain? Obviously I'm concerned about duplication and wondered what is the likely outcome of such a drastic change.

I am able to say 'DON'T DO IT'...but it would be helpful to have the advice of other people to either back it up or provide an alternative.

    Sorry it's a long post...!

    Thanks,

    G

Yes - all the sites have backlinks.

So is the general consensus that doing this would adversely affect our serps until such a time as the single domain is ranking well????
