Multiple sitemaps or all in one ?

For example, I have a wordpress blog and a gallery2 part to it. The WP plug-in I use only makes a sitemap of the actual blog pages and I have another plug-in for gallery 2 which only generates a sitemap for the photos (pages in gallery2).

If I want to let google know of all the pages, then what's best to do, submit two sitemaps e.g. sitemap.xml and sitemap1.xml from the wordpress and gallery2, OR copy the content of one sitemap into the other? This will be more time consuming to update.

    hi,
    you have both options.
    (1) add a single sitemap for ur whole website.
    or
    (2) u can add multiple sitemaps for different modules.. for example: 1 for blog and 1 for ur gallery.
