I have a number of domains pointing to the same website, my host is in the US and as the website is for a company based in the UK I want to have the .co.uk address indexed. The .com url is already well indexed. Do I need to have 2 site maps on the server - one for .com and one for .co.uk? Would doing this be considered a bad thing? i.e. seemly creating 2 of the same website? Basically I just need the pages to show up on Uk only searches as well as global. I'm getting myself quite confused about this.... Thanks
If they redirect to the same domain, just use one sitemap. However, from your description it seems you are running duplicate content on both a com and a uk domain? If they are exactly the same, you risk getting flagged for duplicate content. You should probably make them different and then use two sitemaps.
