multiple links with different anchor text in one page

    if you have multiple links pointing to the same location with different anchor texts on one page, will google take into account both anchors or simply discount all except one?

    I think only one would be counted. Not need to a link to the same page 10 times, you are better off send a link to different pages in your site with correct anchor text.

    yeah i know.
    but for example, if you track and check anchors of the backlinks from forums posts and you enter your website address under your profile, the anchor text will read visit xxxx's homepage, while having the same link in your sig. i suppose google read's the anchor for the 1st link and disregards the link in your sig?

    i guess changing your website addr from your profile might help. or maybe simply get rid of it?

    I have gotten banned by doing so on one of the websites. Provide only one anchor text link.
