    Hi folks,

I would like to know which strategie is better. I support to languages: english and german.
Assume we have the url example.com/en/news.html

How should the german url look like?
    - example.com/de/news.html or
    - example.com/de/Neuigkeiten.html

Or should I add a redirect for example.com/de/news.html which redirects to example.com/de/Neuigkeiten.html

As far as I know search engines prefer language related urls.

    Best,
    Robert

You have the answer. Generally, example.com/de/Neuigkeiten.html is the way to go.

But I think same should not be done in every case. The best option is to go for more popular version. I saw many times that English version is more popular among German speaking people than the German version itself. So, use the popular one.

    Good Luck.

Don't use redirects unless you absolutely have to. I'd just use the native language for those pages. I don't see the point of redirecting the English url.

I would go with news.html, didn't see many sites in my native language (and also in others!) that write their own words (in their language!) in the domain. And of course one more IMPORTANT thing!!! You can also get visitors from other countries. When they read news.html in the address, they would understand that there is something new about anything. if they don't know german, they could use a translator (for example Google Translate service) and they will visit your website in german, but they will see it in their native language, because the biggest of the people worldwide know english :)

better the URL should be in English. And you can also redirect the URL to actual URL.
