I noticed a website that is using multiple keyword domains as lead gen mini-sites for some of their product line. Here is an example: http://www.acclinet.com/ (main site) http://sunv240.com/index.html (mini-site) If you search for the keyphrase "sun v240" you'll notice that they rank third. My question is this; Would it be worthwhile do something like this? I know that it will be from monetary stand-point because one lead for this type of product could generate a ton of profit. But, I'd like to avoid any type of penalty that can come from this. I know that if I was to create a bunch of pages and interlink them, then I might get flagged as a link farm. But, I noticed that Acclinet is linking all of these pages back to their main site, and it doesn't look like it's causing a problem. Could it be that they are hosting on different IP's? Thanks
Here is another example of what I'm talking about: http://www.sf3800.com/ Notice how all of these domains are interlinked, and how they all link back to the main site.
If i was going to build micro sites and link them to the main site I would want them not only on a different IP, but a different IP string. I can't comment on the link farm question, however I would like to offer some additional SEO advice. http://www.acclinet.co/(main site) http://sunv240.com/index.html (mini-site) Both sites do not use H1 or H2 tags. Build your home page and product pages to have the product name (keyword) in the Title, Description, H1, and URL (execpt for home page), then shoot some quality deep links to the Sunv240 page. Let me know how it goes. P.S. Posting there links in this forum will help them with link popularity, set your targeted keyword in your signiture and make quality posts!
