Multiple H1 tags

    can i use multiple H1 tags in single page? if yes then it will be effective or not for search engine rank? please suggest me.

    I do think h1 tags to be used only once in page there are other tags available which can you can use along with h1 tags - h2 and h3 is also needed along with h1 tag.

    Can there be more than one title for a book? Can there be more than one heading for a chapter?

    The only place this makes semantic sense is when using the new elements in HTML5. Otherwise, you are trying to use HTML to style your page but that's what CSS is for.
