Hello, I am pretty new to the internet space for making a living but I have had a good amount of success with one of my main websites. And I wanted to know if I were to purchase different domains for my site would that help with SEO. For example, lets say I own a bean bag selling website. My main domain is FATGUYSBEANBAGS.COM. But there aren't to many keywords in that domain. Is it possible to also purchase the domain BUYBEANBAGS.COM to apppear in the first page of google for that keyword? And then redirect it to my main domain?
If you redirect the name it won't show up in search results. You'd be better off developing some content rich pages for that domain and linking to your store from there or just using the new name for your store
Well, exact domain match is one of the strongest ranking factor. If you can buy a keyword targeted domain name, you should. But create content on it and link to your site. Do not just place a redirect to your site.
