    I was after some guidance?

I have an online shop, the domain is nearly 2 years old. The shop isnt performing particularly well in the google UK search engine, so I bought the .co.uk variation of the domain and put a blog on there.

Basically now the blog is page 6 on google.co.uk for my keywords and the .com is on page 1 in google.com

Do I keep it the way it is? My market is mainly UK so it would be beneficial to perform well in google uk.

Thanks in advance for your input :)

you can setup the navigation of your main site by adding the blog and linking to the UK site. or you can setup the entire site under Uk domain and do a 301 redirect from the main site to the UK site.

According to google it is called shadowing of domain follow. Now follow these steps, either complete redirection the website procedure in my thread given below or change ur previuous website in blogs, and refer to ur new domain. I advise to redirect the website.

If your site is at page 1 that is all fine, blog will just provide you back links.
Also make sure that your blog and website is targeted and it is UK specific, I mean you can specify the country in title, meta description, meta keywords and the site-content too.

Do not run parallel sites on multiple domains.
Providing backlinks is not good enough reason and benefits are minimal. It's much better to have one strong site than 2 weaker ones.

Disadvantages of running 2 similar domains include, having to manage 2 separate sites, risk of being penalised by search engines, confuses visitors.

In order to pick the best option in this case i would establish first which domain is worth keeping:

Some parameters to consider: number of backlinks, pagerank, brand (if you have just printed 10,000 leaflets for .com you can't really change to .co.uk).

If you decide to keep the .co.uk:
    - 301 redirect every single URL to their .com equivalents
    - use <address> HTML tag, it helps geo-targeting of the site.

If you decide to keep the .com:
    - 301 redirect every single URL to their .co.uk equivalents
    - Host your website on servers that are physically located in the UK
    - use <address> HTML tag, it helps geo-targeting of the site.
