Multiple domains, same content, losing position.

For the past 3 years I have had page 1 ranking for most of my main keywords but now I'm slipping down the pages at an alarming rate which I believe is due to duplicate content on 2 domains. I swapped hosts and inadvertanlty left my 'Instant access domain alias' active which resulted in also being listed via my hosts shared domain.

This has now been sorted but my question is how long will I have to wait to see my site being listed in it's original placement if ever?

I would, firstly, spend some time creating defined differences between the multiple domains that contain duplicate content. Keywords, description and body.

I went through this a few months ago. I chose to handcraft the pages on each site so they appeared different but were essentially the same...I'm OK now.
