In trying to understand how best to increase my rank in the Google search engine and effectively advertise my site, I have registered several domains and have them all point to the same site. Now I know Google doesn't like duplicates and I understand that duplicate information often gets weeded out. My question however is, If I have several domains and they all point to the same site will Google search and Adwords give my site a lower rating because so many domain names point to the same information. i am just trying to make my site have much more exposure, but at the same time I want to ensure that this exposure will not hinder my traffic via google. Now I do have a main domain that I have that is actual name of site and all other domains are basically forwards and redirects to the actual domain in question. Example is as follows. I have domain named domain.com but I also have domain.net, domain.org, domain.info and domain.tv All the remaining domains point to, forward to, redirect to domain.com. So will this affect my rating in google and the use of my adwords account. Should I only use my main domain.com for the Adwords Advertising? I know this makes sense but the goal is effective promotion of the site through maximum exposure. It may help if someone could explain a little bit more to me the concepts behind Google's search engine and indexing, without releasing trade secrets and getting us in trouble. I might be answering my own question here but If my domains do redirect and give 301 Error for Redirect Permanently then this should cause no problems for me in the future. However I don't want users who visit these domains to see any error messages but I still want the search engine to know that only one site exists for all these domains. Thanks in advance for anyone who can answer my question.
