good day, and sorry if I have put this in the wrong area I am in the process of creating a new website for my business, my old site is looking old and bloated, but I have 2 domains platinumcomputers.biz and platinumpc.co.uk, just wondering if anyone has ideas of how best to use these comments and suggestions welcome thank you
i like using the old domain better. 2 domain are very nice. you should use domain platinumpc.co.uk like quality pc market.
thank you for your reply, but can I ask why you would use .co.uk over .biz and any ideas as to what to do with the 2nd domain to help in SEO? thanks again for your reply
Unless you plan on selling outside of UK, .biz as one of the "new" tld's has a certain stink to it. Both Google and users will show a certain distrust to the entire TLD. Makes you look like a shady "fly-by-night" business.
Interesting never looked at it that way, thought with it having computers in it would be better, any ideas how to use .biz to help seo
The only justification for using the .biz, is if you wanted to make a concentrated effort to market to customers in US / AU / CA If you plan on marketing mostly to UK/EU I would stick with .co.uk To be clear, the reasons for the difference between the two domains is less about SEO and more about marketing and customer psychology.
Definitely use platinumpc.co.uk if your business is located in the UK and is your primary target market. A .biz domain extensions is not good as it does not sound legitimate in the eyes of consumers and business clients. Ideally .com would be the best if you have any other names you can think of. Good Luck.
ok thank you both good advice i'll start using .co.uk when I get the new site up. can I ask a couple of more questions please, when I use the .co.uk domain how do I tell the search engines I've changed the domain. also I want to add microdata (schema) to my site, so wondering can I add the microdata to each page where does it get inserted in to the code does it have to show up on the page or just show on the snippets thanks again
