is it beneficial to have multiple domain names pointing at one site for seo purposes? for example, lets say i have a company i called "zoogle" so i have zoogle.com but i also buy a hyphenated name with keywords like "animal-art-search.com" would this help my ranking by redirecting that page with keywords? thanks (from a newbie)
Meh, not really, if at all. If there is no content to redirect its sort of a moot point but in some cases its good to snatch up the domains and stick wordpress on them with some good content to link back to the main site. I am sorting out an e-commerce job for someone. I just instructed them to purchase 4 domains to tackle the task at hand. I frankly could not believe they were available so I had said client buy them all hope that makes sense, I am a bit rushed today. Working on Sunday blows but it makes Monday morning much easier lol... Nigel
waste of time and money if you ask me. there is no reason for registering a domain and build a page on it just to redirect it to your main site. there are plenty of ways to build backlinks that will do pretty much the same. you can build a few web 2.0 pages and link to your site which will be lot easier. backlinks from a new site on a new domain with no backlinks itself will not help you much
