Does google have a way of penalizing a site if multiple domain names go to the same page? I have a site, www.seduction-forum.com and I am thinking about buying another domain, www.seduction-forums.com (with an S on the end). I would stealth-forward the new domain to the original using frames. Bad idea? I'm not trying to do anything black-hat here. I just know that people search for both terms. This would also be relevant to other users here who use sites like tinyurl. I think I read once that tinyurl redirects will cause google to view it as duplicate content... cause a lower SERP ranking. I'm not sure if this is still true, as I read about it in 2005 or so. I'm thinking that using frames (stealth forwarding) will solve some of these problems. I'd appreciate input if anyone here knows something I don't.
Hiiiii Waffleguy as you say your first site is www.seduction-forum.com and the other site/domain you are planning to buy is www.seduction-forums.com and if you make both sites are IDENTICAL....Google will ban you because that would be considered "spamming" ( obvious). Your best bet would be to just make a new site...easier than you think but it will take awhile for it to rank well. The other option as you himself talking about is just to have those domain names forward to your main site www.seduction-forum.com. Its just forwards the url to the same site thus no duplication. It's fine. We do it. Using a 301 redirect is currently the safe way to point multiple names to one website. You will have to check with your domain name registrar to see how they handle name forwarding.....
Yes choose one main domain and keep the other as secondary. 301 redirect the secondary to the main domain. Do not use frames. Be sure to market the main domain...no use in marketing both. (You simply want the second one so that you still get the traffic when someone inadvertently types in the wrong name. Think about it from a link building standpoint...if you have 100 people linking to your site...you may end up with 50 to seduction-forum.com and 50 to seduction-forums.com. You'd be better off having all 100 links go to one domain)
