Multiple Backlinks on same site?

I backlink mostly by leaving comments on other sites in my niche. Is it beneficial to me if I do this on a lot of different pages on the same site?

If it is a DO Follow site with high page PR I would do so. Anyways there is no harm from that.

Yes it is beneficial but google will not give importance to those backlinks after some time.

you need IP diversity in your links though... so the more sites the better. it's not necessarily a bad thing to have a few from one site, but I wouldn't overdo it either.

I don't agree. It is so natural when I like someone's blog , read every post and add my comments. So there will be many links to my site on this blog in a few weeks or months. And obviously it can't be harmful in any way. One more example. If you use forum signture, all your posts will contain a link to your site. Do you believe that it is bad?

Inbound links cannot be bad because you have no control over them. If that could harm your site then someone else could do this on purpuose and harm your site's reputation.

By the way, there are ways of harming SEO of a site, but that is not so simple. And if a site is huge and have many good links it's almost impossible.

I think it is not ethical if a site could be harmed from someone that is not the site owner that is why i doubt that it could be done. Maybe i am wrong but it should't be this way.

do not over do it, otherwise Google will penalise you, try exchanging links with other sites/blogs in your niche, exchange blog posts etc.

Also, try to get .edu and .gov backlinks. They are generally more trusted in Google's eyes. And vary your anchor text.

I would use a Shortened URL to direct them towards the site, and benefit from the traffic, although with direct links I would say this is a bad idea. Mainly for the fact I am sure Google will eventually not take much notice of them links as this would appear as if the site was affiliated with you some way, I am sure Google would filter this out, as this in no way would be fair coming from a bias point of view. Imagine if high ranking website was to only market their own products via their website, they would literally dominate the SERP's

From a direct traffic perspective though I would say this is excellent, but I would use a Shortened URL.

I think however Google is aware at the fact that blogs, forums, etc use linking systems within signatures etc. And would be prepared to rank websites accordingly for these links. A short answer would be NO, this is not a bad thing to do at all. Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

Links from different IP is important. Links from same site has some value but not much.

It is easy to get one way links, so yes, get from a diverse range of sites.

Don't be lazy about it, dedicate a little time and effort will see much greater rewards. E.g. read the sites, establish your it is in your niche and comment constructively.

Don't just spam sites saying nice post or rubbish like that.

Linking to different pages of same site would be helpful in link building.

As Google also counts pages along with counting IP addresses.

Yes, it is true that linking to unique IP address gives you more link juice than linking to different pages of same IP address (if all rules of white hat SEO is followed).
