Multiple 301 Domain Redirects

For a while we have had over 20 domains parked. If we were to do a 301 redirect on all of them to our main domain, is this a good idea? Will it negatively affect seo in any way. I'm sure 1 or 2 domain redirects are fine, but I was wondering if we should avoid this many.

I think it is spammy, the sort of thing a cheap SEO company would suggest. Better to make easy sites on them all to set the context and let them age. Parked domains are a false revenue.

Too many 301 redirects will throw a red flag with google. Your sites will probably get a manual review from Google which could result in a penalty.

    Thanks for the replies.

What if we didn't have the time or resources to setup content on those domains and do a bit or marketing? We wouldn't be doing this as an attempt to improve search engine rankings. It would only really be done to salvage the bit of direct traffic that those domains receive.

We're not too worried about a manual review. I highly doubt we would get any kind of manual review penalty.

Has anyone had experience with negative results from too many domain redirects?
