Any multilingual directories out there? Or directories in languages other than english? This may be a market totally untapped. Why am I sharing this if I think it's a good idea, because I don't care I am already busy but it was a thought I had and curious what people know about them.

Indian, Spanish and Chinese strike me as the 3 best languages.

Also anyone have different language sites on their dir's currently?

I don’t see a problem accepting different languages I can understand Portuguese, Spanish, French, English, Italian, German and several regional dialects for other languages I rely on the google translator and common sense.

I think in the future more sites will start to search for SEO on native languages, big market.

That is what I was thinking! Now how to put it into practice.... Ingenious ideas unfortunately are only a small portion of walking the walk!

I was thinking more of a Multilingual Category and whenever a specific language gets alot break it down into sub categories etc.. etc...

Thats an interesting question. I wonder how you can setup few different languages on one phpld install... and I dont mean just regional category, i mean the whole site in a different language, including subcategories and articles.

I think is a good idea to start a directory in another language, but not as a subcategory.

Another one that I have found alright is; Altavista Babel Fish. You could always use that and maybe hire an editor to fine tune. Obviously it helps if you speak the language as well.
