Multi seller ecommerce / online mall

Hello! I'm new to ecommerce. A customer asked to have a multi vendor ecommerce etsy/dawanda like, with social capabilities and possibly the common trends' bells and whistles. I can't figure out how to do this work because basically I'm not able to find anything really convincing, neither as an out of the box solution or even a product to customize:

    1. X-Cart Pro - users on product's forum say the product is buggy and update to new versions is a PITA.
    2. Magento - doesn't do real multiseller (AFAIK)
    3. MightyCommerce - a Joomla! extension that well integrates with other Mighty components. Bugs and not extensively adopted/tested. For now the best solution I found.
    4. Ubercart Marketplace - based on Drupal (steep learning curve). Poor documentation and support. Outdated project?
    5. JMarket PRO - Joomla! extension not much known/used.

Do anyone of you have had any experience with above cited products?

Which other options exist? I mean even implemented in programming languages that are not PHP, Java for example. Commercial solutions can be adopted as well, we don't virtually have budget limits if the platform is stable and well supported. Open source would be greatly preferred but not mandatory.

I'd really really appreciate any suggestion!

    Thanks a lot,
    best regards.

P.S. As I'm new to this forum and I can't yet post "live links" I have listed urls here:

I suggest you go for Magento if you want a stable and supported platform. With Magento you will have complete control over your store. It's integration enables you to create customized shopping carts depending on your business needs thus bringing your desired functionality. If you like professional help just pm me or go to our site.

    Cheers!
