One of my clients wants to rank well for her term across all the internationa lsearch engines. I suggested hosting/ip in each country because google's internatioal search engines puts more weight on sites that are hosted on the local sites. Is this true? Anyone have a recommendation for a hosting company that this?
Just create seperate sub-domains for each language, search engines will disguinish the language and appropriate it correctly in the results, below is the best example, remember ALWAYS keep the template and content the same, just the language is to be changed. http://www.yoursite.com/ - english http://en.yoursite.com/ - redirect to above domain http://sp.yoursite.com/ - Spanish http://fr.yoursite.com/ - French etc
i think pood only have 1 language version. if you have something like en.yoursite.com, can you really rank well in all english speaking regions?
The client hasn't thought about translating his site yet, but all he wants to do right now is rank for a certain term across all the international engines. That's why I'm trying to get a hosting service that has IPs in multiple countries. As I mentioned above, google does give preferences to IP addresses of the hosting in the country you're searching from. So you might be #1 for tire seller in the US, but maybe #3-4 in South Africa, or has someone disapproved that?
