I am obliged to explain myself, since I find that none of you understood my intentions here: -I started using this blog, around Chritsmas and I wished you Christians 'merry christmas' from within my own belief -Islam -As I received tons of negative answers from all of you, about Islam and Muhammad (s.a.s), I started the discussion on the Bible and Jesus accepting a Prophet coming after him. -As I received more negative feedback, I defended my religion and my Prophets. Jesus and Muhammad are both my Prophets. -I see that Christians do not accept Islam as a religion, and do not accept Muhammad as a Prophet. -I did not know this and I hope this is not true for all Christians and Jews. -I am not insulted but I wish you could be a bit more open-minded and less rude. Too bad, we could have been good friends. That's all from me in this thread.
Thank you While that was very nice of you, you've mistaked Christmas for a "Christian" and or religious holiday, of which it is NEITHER. Ok, but I am not sure that correcting misstated facts is really being "negative" per say. No, I think everyone, Christians included, accept Islam as a religion.. What we do not accept is the concept that Islam is a religion of "peace". Nothing rude here.. Most Jews and Christians (even Atheists) like their heads where they are. Reject Islam and that may just happen... Hey, you have yourself a safe, prosperous and Happy New Year!
Speaking of King Herod (ok, I'm stretching it) ... Pontius Pilate is rumoured to have been born in Scotland, in one of the Roman Forts in Perthshire. Fortingall, near Aberfeldy. There you go.
In the United States, while Christmas is indeed a Christian religious holiday, it is also a secular one. Many non-Christians celebrate it as a holiday for togetherness with family and friends. So thank you for wishing me a Merry Christmas, but my Dad (a non-Christian) would also have appreciated the sentiment. I do not expect you to wish him one, and am not put out by your not doing so, but thought that you might like to know. It was an interesting perspective on those verses, and feel more educated having seen another interpretation of them. However they can be interpreted many ways, and I do not feel that your interpretation is the correct one. I do, however, support your right to your interpretation. I am sorry that more people were not interested in hearing your understanding of your religion. I do accept that Islam is a religion, and accept that it has a right to exist. That does not mean that I will convert to that religion. For me to accept Muhammad as a prophet and believe what he says is true would require me to convert to your religion. I do, however, recognize him as someone who's words are valued by many world wide, who view him as one of their prophets. For a Jew or Christian to accept Muhammad as a prophet and to accept his words as truth and as being from God would mean their conversion to Islam, and thus they would no longer be a Jew or Christian. Therefore I doubt you will find a Christian or Jew who currently accepts Muhammad as one who has relayed the word of God. I apologize if I was rude to you when you shared your beliefs with me. I tried to be civil, curious, and courteous. I hope that there is still that chance. I'm sorry to hear that. I hope that you are willing to continue on at DP.
