Much lower impressions

For the past several months, I've been spending around 6-7k/day through adwords, I didn't change anything, but yesterday it only reached a tad over $2k... impressions were much lower than typical... anyone know why this could happen?

You've been outbid for your terms
A site you were doing well on has gone down
Your no longer showing up on page one in search

There are too many possibilities, see how it goes for a few days and your analytcs should help you figure it out.

The majority is from content campaigns and my position yesterday was 1.1 for the largest ad group, which receives most of the volume.

Have you also suffered a drop in Quality Score or changed your bid pricing? If your budget is no longer adequate your impressions could suffer then.

may me competition is increasing for your type of campaign so increasing bid price for few days will give some good result.

Thats a possibility, and definitely worth a try while monitoring the results, just don't make the changes too sudden. I'm assuming you know what sites are giving you most of the volume through tracking correct? Visit that site, and look over the adwords ad, see who's beating you and what there doing that your not.

run your PPR reports and set time to daily. Then compare the low day with high days...

It may be a website that dropped adsense or other factors
