"Google contains more than 100 algorithms that make it the world's most popular search engine." Whoops. I think he's trying to say that Google has 1 algorithm with hundreds of everchanging components. Full Story Someone who suggests that writing articles is the number 1 SEO technique should be a little more careful with the SEO articles that they write. The author also makes the assumption that all the search engines are using latent symantic indexing. People more knowledgeable than me have stated that isn't happening.
I believe it, if you actually read the post, rather than just stating your opinion without backing it up, he mentions 'pagerank' and one of the algothrims, also think about many algorithms will be to determin relevacy, and weight of a link, and there will be algos for ranking, devaluating, black hat ect.
algorithm is really only fancy name for a set of instructions. I think 100 is a little short, the thousands of papers that google employees write im sure its closer to 1000's of algorithms to make google tick. Latent semantic indexing is in reference to finding articles that dont directly relate to a keyword. (over smplified i know) I.E, you search for "CAR" and the Ferrari webpage comes up as a link though it doesnt mention car once. (this is how google bombs are/were created ) Pierce
100 algorithm sound a lots but actually it's not. if consider how many types of sites and services on the internet and how many kinds of visitors using google. they sure getting new algorithm everyday and hope we know all of them.
You highlight what amounts to a technical flaw... for what reason? The article is informative and right on. In fact I ended up reading a bunch of stuff he has written and he is working to help those of us in learning mode understand the 'secrets' of SEO. More power to him. And so what really is your point... I would be happy to read your articles.
