I'm getting the feeling that MSN finally figured out that it is a good strategy to assign more weight to older sites..... Has anyone else seen a change that would back this up within the last few days, maybe longer...... I'm not saying I'm sure about this, but I have a feeling that thy just started doing this.... It'll take more time to see if this is somethign new, but I just got the feeling and wanted to post about it and see if anyone else noticed anything.....
I think older can mean better, but then how do they know if the site has been sold like a kazillion times? How do they beep in and say, oh, this site is X years old. I have seen the way back when machine. Also, if a site domain name expires, goes out of pending/renewal age, and is bought up by a total unrelated domain buyer, does the domain/site still rank as having maturity? does this make sense? gosh PS. msn has had me unindexed for a week. went from 500ish pages to zero (off topic) PS, edit again. I think that age should be somewhere on the scorecard. Not sure how much it should "weigh".
I know they won't be able to handle it as well as Google can..... I mean, Google is an offical ICANN domain registrar for a reason.... But MSN can still try..... I would guess they would go by the original registration date in the whois or the internet archive..... Most good trustworthy sites have a record in the archive database..... And most trustworthy sites have been around for years... Most not all....
I agree with John on post #3, makes sense. Is MSN actually giving + points for old sites, I donno really.
