Does anyone else notice that when significant changes are made to your site that rankings will dip for a while before coming back stronger? It seems that this happens often with our sites but I don't have a long enough time line for data to make a solid conclusion on this. Say: Internal anchor text is refined for more targeted kw; or modification of title tag etc. Anyone else notice this?

A typical pattern might look something like this in Key word tracker:

    4
    6 new rankings

    53
    70
    70
    68
    65 change chached

    11
    11
    10
    12

During updates this will happen often but I'm talking about when msn re-caches the changed page, not during an update.

I hate to bump up my own thread but if anyone has any information or could share their experience on this subject I would be greatly appreciative.

Ermm I'm not really sure about this.

    Rank 48 - 1 Week Ago
    Rank 69 - 5 Days ago (Link popularity dropped from 1403 - 242)
    Rank 72 - Today

I hope to get ranked stronger than before like your site. I'm focusing on built link popularity with relevant site and submitted to some directories. It could be stronger. Good luck with your site.

    Cheers,

Thats how MSN seems to work. The down side is you have to wait up to 2 weeks before you see what you changes did to your rankings?
