I am ranking in msn in 2nd page. But when i check our traffic from msn is not pretty. Why is it so? I think there is few members use msn search engine.
    Just share your views.

MSN and yahoo, even if you are ranking #1, they will not bring too much traffic to you. Compared with google, all are rank #1 for the three engines, the traffic will be msn:yahoo:google=1:1:10

and what if by your calculations your 1:1:10 is 1,000,000:1,000,000:10,000,000
still going to complain? I thiiiiink not.

also, you cannot conclude what you've suggested, in that, msn and yahoo won't bring you taffic, because you have no facts bearing what is hit or miss via terms of search vs visits on everything.

what you can conclude, is that your specific types of endeavours are not successful on msn and yahoo, but you cannot generalize it as broadly as you just did.

    I would say google:yahoo:msn=12:7:1
Apparently Yahoo is not as bad as I used to think. google is #1 ofcourse. MSN ... needs more time...

Of course there are less msn's users than google's ones. But it's really easier to rank on 1st page with msn. And a big ranking on a little SE is always better than nothing.
And the recipe with MSN is simple (just my opinion) : The more links, the better ranking, at the contrary of google which wants "good" links.

MSN and Yahoo are not very high traffic search engines as compared to Google. Also, as you're on page 2 for your keyword, you wont get much traffic. Usually, people look at search results on the first page, and the first 5 positions get the most clicks. So you need to improve your ranking from 2nd page to page 1. Also, how competitive is the keyword you are ranking high on MSN. Is it a high traffic keyword? If its a very niche keyword, you cant expect to see many users coming through it.

It would still really depend on the search term though.

I think yahoo and msn have less searches according to my exprince. But, I would like to share with you guys MSN and yahoo shows search results are very genuine not any fack and permotes sites. they pick up fine contents and reputed sites. What you say? I offense use msn or yahoo for any spacial results if i am not satisfied with Google searches.

It's a known fact MSN has only a fraction of the search market. Yahoo is much better but Google still has the majority. Demographics accross the big 3 do differ a bit so yes, it depends on phrases you target.

For one of my sites when it comes to organic traffic:

    Google 72.5%
    Yahoo 14.07%
    Ask 4.63%
    AOL 3.71%
    Search 3.18%
    and only then
    MSN 1.37%

I'm not sure whether Analytics is counting Live and MSN as the same but even if that wasn't the case it would only be 2% or so.

Well, I personally think MSN is geared more towards North America - I bet most of their traffic comes from there. Internationally they do far worse.

Only if you rank for highly searched terms you can have results in MSN.
Usually the 3 word keys don't generate much traffic.

MSN has very tiny market share and it shows in the traffic that they bring to a site. Being on the 2nd page isn't going to produce much traffic.

MSN dose'nt counts much, and you're at the 2nd page. Ranking at the same position but at Google will bring you much more traffic than ranking at the top position at MSN.

    Edit:
Is everybody ( including me ) forgetting about the microsoft's integrated search? .. I just realized this, if the integrated search idea went pretty well then microsoft will rule the search market.
