MSN PageRank & Web Directories

Hello dir owners,

I am sure that some of you know about the MSN PageRank, but I am curious to see how many of you have tried it for directories. I think it is quite useful to know how MSN is ranking your directory, and also to see some other link statistics.

Here you have some directions :

• register for a hotmail ID, in case you don't have one
• now go to webmaster.live.com
  
• and login
• go to your profile and add your website/directory + follow those simple steps.
• now you should be able to see some statistics, just like in the Google Webmaster Tools.

I didn't played with it too long, but I am curious how it works for you and what is your opinion. I just cannot believe I have a 5/5 MSN PageRank.

Ive never heard of it before, il have a proper look later.

 

I told you, I have a 5/5 MSN PageRank also, but I saw ppl who had 1/5
This is why I am curious how you find this tool, and of course what is your MSN PR

Until MSN has a reasonably large enough market share to drive serious traffic, why bother?

 

interesting...hope it can compete with Google PR system...

 

This is the main idea. Another authority ranking(or qualifying) method would be great.

 

Oh my directory has only 4/5. Never heard of this rank before.

 

This is what I would like to be changed. But I think it will take a loooooong time for this.

Keep thinking like this and you won't get far. When there is a major competition between the SEs, we would be those in advantage. When Google is the leader and the followers are far away behind, you need to dance as Google sings...

i signed up today,but still dont see many stats or msn rank for my site.How long did it take for you to see it?thnxs and rep giving

 

For me it was quite simple...I registered, logged in, and I saw the stats...no need to wait. This is the first time I hear this. Who knows, maybe you need to wait for the first crawl if your site is new.

Ive just tried it for one of mu sites and have a pr5 and 4 pr4 for the top 5 pages.

 

Its quite interesting, never heard before, thanks for sharing the same...going to configure my directory and some sites.

 

wellif you use live messenger there is a search box there.Computers are shipped with all msn software installed so for people who are not webmasters -people like my mother ,sister ,friends and family they will use the tools in front of them most of the time so i wouldnt discount the value of msn.If they and yahoo merge it will be very interesting to see.

 

For one of my sites its msn that sends the 2nd most se traffic.
